My approach

Provide quick relief, prevent lasting harm

A kidney stone is one of the most intense pains imaginable. My priority is to relieve your pain quickly, then treat the stone with the gentlest technique possible: flexible ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, or endoscopy, most often without incision.

Treating a kidney stone is not enough: understanding why it formed helps prevent recurrence. Assessment, dietary advice, and follow-up are integral parts of the treatment plan.
